Johnny Cisneros – NEEDY

Johnny Cisneros is a Los Angeles-based rising post-punk artist that knows how to inject fresh vibes into the hugely popular genre. His own touch usually includes highly emotional vocal delivery and atmospheric guitar textures. All of this is present on the new single dealing with the topic of emotional dependency.

Johnny Cisneros
Writing and recording 'NEEDY' was about capturing the raw energy of post-punk and the emotional tightrope of love and dependency. I wanted to blend Spanish vocals, energetic post punk guitars, and atmospheric production to create a song that highlights the feeling of emotional dependency.

Chuck Johnson – Sylvanshine

Sylvanshine is a cut from Oakland-based composer and multiinstrumentalist's upcoming album Sun Glories. The piece opens up new sonic potential in electric guitar, inspired by the recent works of Rachika Nayar. The track also features Cole Pulice's ethereal sax perfectly bleding with the guitar textures.

Chuck Johnson
I immediately felt a deep affinity for Cole Pulice’s music the first time I heard their 2021 LP “Gloam.” Cole’s use of acoustic sax and pitch-bending digital effects is incredibly organic and hallucinatory at the same time, and I imagined the sound of their instrument gliding over the looping and fractalized guitar would make for a compelling arrangement.
